Brian Jin

Distant

He can see himself

Looking off down the long street

To nowhere.

There is no map

To guide him to his future.

It’s blind driving up ahead,

He’s turning wildly towards tomorrow.

But the car is running out of gas,

The highway leaves no survivors.

This driver needs a break

From the ruggedness

Of life’s road.

There is no stopping, or he will get run over.

All that can be done,

Is to look off down this long road.
