Fresh Start

The birds are awake.
Chirping away like loquacious ladybugs,
Who banter about their unique black spots,
And their common red bodies.

Diamond drops on every blade of grass.
Cool, refreshing and overall stimulating,
Born just this morning,
Prickly spiders biting at my ankle.

Clouds more red than ripe tomatoes,
The sun peers over the horizon,
With its luminous display,
Warms hands and hearts.
