Return to Me

In the distant past I barely remember
There you are.
Standing.
The cool darkness envelops you into her open arms of night.
Can you remember what I cannot?
The shadows embrace me
Pulling me ever closer to an approaching end.
I do not remember because nothing is there
The forgotten memories are non-existent
The happy times never came
Your love remained but you were gone.
My heart became a thousand pieces
Shattered.
Swept away by the wind to be forgotten.
Where were you then?
Where are you now?
I may believe that you have forgotten me
But I wait endlessly for an eternity
Until you return to me.
