Nisa Kridaratikorn

No Longer

The lights die,
Sliding into the corners of the room.
The previews start showing.
She tries to concentrate on the movie
but all she sees that is reflecting the screen
is her life.

A life not worth living.
Full of pain and anguish.
An aging mother, past her prime.
She watches the heroine cry, so she cries too.
Crying for her, and for herself.

The lights turn on.
Her life gets better
She leaves the movie theater
Running away from reality,
And drifting into oblivion once again.
