Summer Longing

Satisfying summer days are what I love best,
these fun-filled hours overriding the rest.
With bright blue skies,
and cheery bird cries,
Plenty of green leaves
blanket numberless trees.
Kids do nothing but play
from early morning to the end of the day.
Games of hide and seek and running around
and games of tag to play are bound.
Trips to the beach, let’s not forget,
leave you worry-free with no reason to fret.

Either relaxing in my room
blissful and cool,
as thunderclouds loom,
Staring off with no care,
to nowhere.
Or going off with friends
hoping this season never ends
And looking back in the past,
I wish these days could always last.
