STOP CHEMO

The day I looked at the

Small box on the calendar,

That would change my heart forever

The small capital letters written in red,

STOP CHEMO.

I knew he had cancer before,

But he was a survivor, he had

Outlived those days.

I quietly asked my mom,

But she told me she would

Tell me later.

Ideas ran through my head

But in my heart I knew.

She told me on the car ride home.

They had found another tumor,

But unlike before, this one could not

Be removed.

It was slow growing.

I had to stay strong

If he could have hope

So could I.
