My Bad

Whoever saw that one coming?
I sure didn’t,
And neither did the neighbors.

You shouldn’t have let me,
I don’t even have my permit yet.

I can still hear the cracking of the wood,
And the shards shrieking against the metal.
I can feel my sweaty hands shaking.
Your footsteps,
So fierce, make the soil shake.
I’m frozen in fright,
Still not knowing what’s going on.

Back to reality,
I realize what has just happened,
And I apologize to both of you,
The neighbors
And the fearless fence.
