Curfew

Remember
the time I came home an hour after curfew?
Remember
how mad you were?
Remember
how the yelling woke everyone up?

Remember
what I told you?
Remember
how my excuses did not matter?
Remember
how you yelled at me until I slammed the door on you?

Well, I do.
And,

I’m Sorry.

I never meant to cause you
pain.
I never meant to cause you
stress.

I’m sorry.

I remember
coming out of my room bawling my eyes out,
and
then you hugged me and said,

“I’m sorry.”
