Perfection?

People say
practice makes perfect.
But does it really?

This doubt tries to scale
the vulnerable wall of my mind,
searching for a foothold
or anything that will empower
my insecurities.

This same doubt trips across
my every thought,
causing me to stumble.

Then.
I make unpredicted
yet definite,
loud
notes and sounds

Even with the practice,
can we count on the repetition?
Or will spontaneity prevail?

My beliefs in disarray
“false” hopes that once served
the music making process

No longer the fuel to the
long burning hours of practice,
have I reached my limit?

They say
practice makes perfect
But does it really?

Now I realize,
they also say
hard work pays off

With this, I will rise
from the abyssal bottom
to infinity and beyond.

Perfection is not everything
but it is better than nothing.

So yes. I can and will be better than you.
