Light-Years Away

Gazing above, filled with wonder,
Light-years away, are there rumbles of thunder?
Why do stars lie above the Earth?
Infinity and beyond the galaxies are worth.

The beauty of the sky inside me will melt,
as my eyes gravitate toward Orion's belt.
Tall and surrounded he does stand,
a towering hero, high above the land.
A hunter lost in space,
that only time can erase.

I become a star through contemplation.
I am one of trillions in the sky’s bursting foundation.
Will I obtain a place in a constellation?
Or next to Orion, my life long fascination.
