The Mall

As soon as I walk in
“Hello, welcome to –“
Hollister, Journey’s, Abercrombie and Fitch
We laugh at the high pitch
And continue on our way
We squeeze through aisles
Of clothes, people with bags
From little kids to old hags
We take in scents that
We can tolerate to breathe
We look to see what’s new
We eventually leave

What’s next?
Who cares!
We walk
And take in stares
From the left
From the right
The colors
The bright lights
Surrounded with noise
Girls in tights
And oh the boys
We look to our left
We glance to our right

The food court
My favorites
My cravings
Should we wait?
The options
We debate:
Have it your way
At BK
Or learn to run on Dunkin’
Someone always eats something
Even when nobody’s hungry

How lovely
We look in
The Apple Store
Laptops galore
Photo booth and more
Always kicked out
From frequent laughs and shouts
We walk and talk
With constant stops

The chaos
We love it
With money
Or just enough
It doesn’t matter
We don’t steal stuff
It’s all fun
Starting at one
Till we’re ready
To leave the world
Of stores protected
From the sun
