A Summer Day

The waves crash without a sound
The sun beams down
Warming the land.

Salt water is infused in the air
With just a hint of suntan lotion.

The hungry birds try to snatch away food
By playing a game of tug-of-war
You are able to pull it from their grasp.

Running down to the sea
When the water is tossed in your direction
Your burning body cools off instantly.

Basking in the sun
Everything seems
Simple.

The afternoon drags on
The bright colors in the sky
Turn to a mix of reds and yellows.

When the sun becomes lower
Everyone packs up their belongings
While taking one last glance at the ocean
Glimmering in the light illuminated from the setting sun.
