How to fake a smile
And pretend everything is fine
How to force the world to understand
The pain of forgotten love and remembered hate
How to stand up and be strong
For myself and my friends
How to feel useful
Like I really count
How to help someone who is grieving
To stop their pain with just a couple words

All I do know is…
That a smile should be genuine
And joy shared is increased
That anything accomplished with praise is superior
To that which is created by force or contempt
That I can only try my best
And hope in some small way I helped
That I can only be there
To let them know I care
That to stop their pain is impossible
But to lessen it is easy
Since pain shared is pain halved
