Blurred blue lines
tattooed on my pale, soft skin
Imprinted in my forearm,
forever.
Indelible image resides there,
Upon my warm flesh
It will stay,
A constant reminder
Permanent, proud.

My living nightmare
not yet put to rest
after 66 years.
I am resilient,
To have to fight
for courage.
An unmistakable strength
in order to assert humanity.
Powerful serial number,
sink into me, there,
on my forearm.
Symbolize terrifying brutality
forced upon me.
Once upon a time
I was voiceless.
But I find strength in numbers.
Black fades to blue,
yet we remain strong.
Survivors
Bravery is inspiration.
