The Mountain

The mountain obstructs me from my goal,
It stands tall and proud,
I freeze in its presence,
There is no way to go around it,
It must be conquered.

Gasping as the air grows thin,
Fighting my throbbing feet,
Chilled wind pierces my face,
The top seems further and further away,
Still I climb.

Finally approaching the top,
I stand in triumphant glory,
Though I have struggled to get here,
I realize the mountain has made me stronger.
