Sushawn Nag

From the Top of St. Mary’s Tower

Oxford, the city of dreaming spires
Famous for its prestigious university in England
Chirst Church, Corpus Christi and Magdalen to name a few
Are of the forty-two colleges and halls
Founded centuries ago, the university is known
For the Rhodes foundation and Bodleian library
They produce famous scientists, authors and politicians
And despise “the other ones” at Cambridge

Grab a baguette from Bonjour
Then head over to the covered market,
Get a warm freshly baked cookie from Ben’s
or one of the hundred delicious shakes from moo-moo’s
Great literature can be enjoyed with a book
With a book from one of the Blackwells bookshops

Walk through the meadow, on the dirt paths
Past the cows and under the trees
Punt along the meandering Cherwell
Or shop on the cobblestone Cornmarket.
There are shrunken heads and gargoyles
From St. Mary’s tower to the Radcliffe Camera,
The city’s landmarks don’t fail to impress

Intellectual individuals
From around the globe come to study
At a university, centuries old
In the city, of dreaming spires
