The Darkest of Dreams

Sitting in a vast space of black

Darkness swirls in my vision

Touch of nothing in my path

Hear of nothing moving about

View of infinite darkness

Alone until the light arrives

Finally, the rays glisten upon my skin

The warmth of heavy, humid air

Hear the warm familiar voices

Similar to the chatter of chipmunks

Infinite hope of the new day stretches across the horizon

Then the darkness comes

Enclosing the light in rapid speed

Quick as the incoming train

Running, running away

It catches up to me

I am part of the darkness, alone again
