Water Music

Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale.

The diver’s breathing sets the tempo,

He submerges.

Every breath in rhythm,

Setting the beat of his journey.

Each organism a new note,

Composing a rainbow on a staff.

Seaweed undulates with crashing waves,

Together, they comprise the orchestra,

Harmonizing with the organisms.

Each habitat a new movement,

With different melodies and tones,

Synthesizing to form an ecosystem.

A symphony to be revered by all.

The diver’s tank grows low on air,

He knows the composition will soon end.

Looking up, he sees metronomic bubbles,

Guiding him to the light.

The diminuendo begins,

He reluctantly ascends.

Inhale…exhale…inhale…exhale.
