Bronwyn Wada-Gill Brilliant Gone Stupid “Every composer knows the anguish and despair occasioned by forgetting ideas which one had no time to write down” ~ Louis-Hector Berlioz
Clicking
Tapping
Major frustration
It was a good idea
More than good
Brilliant!
But no
I didn’t have a piece of paper,
My hand was already smeared with ink,
The shirt sleeve was too dark to write on
Mom would have strangled me if I had written on her Calvin Klein jeans
I lost it
Completely
It was a good idea!
Now what am I writing?
Writing how stupid I feel because I forgot my amazing,
Incredible,
Awesome,
Tear-worthy,
Hilarious,
Sad,
Idea!
Now?
Gone
Replaced instead by random words
Jumbled up awkwardly
Not matching
Not not matching
Not not not making sense either
Or was it not not not not making sense?
Wow…
Seriously?!
No hope
Nope
It’s gone
Gone
Gone
Gone
Into oblivi-on
Hey, that rhymed!
No
Fail
Just like everything else about this poem
Pshh…
Stupid jeans
