Jillian Guerra DreamlessWith open eyes I glare
At the vacuous air
Which decides to impair
My vision in its snare
I veer to the side, to the wall in my face
Stretch out my hand, map out my space
Then a flash like a mace
Lacerates this place
These shadows curve to my shaping
Attempting to choke the gaping
Aperture in the intricate draping
Of inky black manipulating
I squint my eyes
As ominous effulgence tries
To eradicate these dreamless lies
Time runs dry, the benign raven dies
The moon plummets down
The bewitching ebony drowns
In blushing radiance renown
And shadows leave without a sound.
